The files below contain the most recent patches for SMI Version 8 field survey software running on Windows CE devices. Click here for patches to previous versions of SMI.

Version 8.0M is the latest version of the SMI Version 8 software series. To upgrade your Version 7 software to Version 8, contact us at (800) 678-6565 for pricing information. Click here for a list of enhancements in SMI Version 8.

To verify your current version of SMI field survey software, follow these steps:
  • On a Pocket PC or Archer, the version is displayed across the title bar.
  • On an Allegro, select Help --> About Classic SMI.
  • On an SMI Jett·ce or Jett·XL, select Help --> About Classic SMI.
  • On a Titan, press [CTL] - [DEL] or RED - VER

ALLEGRO CX USERS: The Allegro CX operating system has been updated to include enhancements to improve overall performance, power consumption and communication via COM, USB and Bluetooth®. This, along with over 60 improvements made to the operating system by Microsoft®, make it a recommended update to each of your Allegro CX data collectors.

Download the AllegroCX106.exe file to your desktop PC and then double click on the file to extract the Allegro CX installation files. Password: 106. Detailed install instructions open when extracted.

SMI FLEX GPS USERS: NavCom receivers occasionally may need to be updated to newer firmware. Firmware updates may contain new features or improvements over previous versions that may significantly improve the performance or robustness of the product. Each revision of NavCom firmware is thoroughly tested by Eagle Point against expected performance criteria. When an update is determined to be beneficial and meets or exceeds the expected performance criteria, it is released to our clients.

To check the firmware version on your receiver, run the GPS Diagnostics command from your SMI Version 8 data collector (accessible from the FLEX GPS Command Favorites menu).
