The Checkout module provides the ability for users to checkout a
license for any module in their corporate network license pool, and
disconnect their computer from the network and still run the Eagle
Point software. In fact, users can request a license on behalf of
someone who has no access to the Eagle Point License Manager and
e-mail the license to that person for instant access to the Eagle
Point modules they requested.
Licenses can be held for up to 30 days so users can learn the software
at home or work on projects at remote locations.

Checking out licenses is a simple process. Run the Eagle Point Network
License Checkout module while communication with the Eagle Point
License Manager exists and select the modules you want to use when
you’re disconnected from the network. Select the Checkout button,
specify the number of days you expect to use the license and you are
ready to go. You now can run the requested Eagle Point modules while
detached from the network. If you’re done with the licenses earlier
than expected, return them to the pool by using the Checkin command.
For users that are unable to communicate with the Eagle Point License
Manager, the Checkout module also provides the capability to receive
licenses remotely. Simply provide the remote user’s machine ID to
someone who is communicating with the Eagle Point License Manager and
have him or her check out the modules on the remote user’s behalf. The
program creates a license file that can be sent (e-mailed, floppy
disk, etc.) to the remote user who saves it on their machine to access
the requested modules. Contact Eagle Point at 1-800-678-6565 for pricing information on this
new module.
The network license request process has been streamlined so that
requests are e-mailed to Eagle Point and within 24 hours you’ll
receive an e-mail back containing your network license file. Then it’s
a simple matter of saving the license file to the proper network
location and pointing the Eagle Point License Manager to it. There’s
no need to hand enter numerous keys into the License Manager. |

Redundant servers are additional servers that are used to help manage
license files and provide backup during server downtime. By having
multiple servers connected via LAN or WAN, you also get the ability to
pool licenses from multiple offices. If one office’s workload
increases, you can borrow unused licenses from your less busy offices.
Contained within the Eagle Point License Manager is the ability to
report license usage by module, user, machine and server. Use these
reports to analyze how often users are denied licenses and forecast
when to purchase more modules.
